Client Policies
These policies are based on Paws on Patrol’s walker standards, code of conduct, and weather/safety procedures. They are written in plain language so clients know what to expect before booking. Paws on Patrol walks are private, not group walks, except for additional dogs from the same household when safe and compatible.
Cancellation Policy
Please provide as much notice as possible for cancellations or schedule changes. If a walker has already been assigned or is already on the way, the appointment may still be charged. Walks may also be shortened, delayed, converted to a quick relief visit, or cancelled when safety conditions require it.
Key Handling Policy
Keys, door codes, lockbox codes, fobs, alarm details, addresses, and access instructions are treated as confidential information. Walkers enter client homes only for approved pet care purposes, leave the home secure, and never invite unauthorized people into a client’s home.
Private Walk Policy
Paws on Patrol provides private walks only. Dogs are not mixed with dogs from other households. The only exception is an additional dog from the same household, provided the dogs are compatible and can be handled safely together.
Photo & Update Policy
Walkers may send service updates and photos directly to the client after a walk or visit. Photos of client pets, homes, buildings, keys, addresses, or identifying details will not be posted publicly without written client and business approval.
Emergency Vet Authorization Note
In an urgent situation, Paws on Patrol will make reasonable efforts to contact the client first. Walkers are expected to report incidents immediately and follow the client’s care instructions. If urgent veterinary attention is required, service decisions will be guided by the client’s emergency authorization and the dog’s safety.
Leash Policy
Dogs must remain leashed and under control during walks unless otherwise directed in writing by the business owner for a specific approved situation. Walkers avoid unsafe dog greetings, loose-dog areas, risky shortcuts, dog parks, playgrounds, school grounds, construction sites, crowded public gatherings, and other unsafe areas. Leash handling must stay calm, humane, and safety-focused.
Weather & Safety Policy
Walks are adjusted based on dog safety, weather, breed, age, coat type, health, pavement conditions, and client instructions. During unsafe heat, cold, ice, storms, lightning, high winds, poor visibility, or extreme weather warnings, service may be shortened, delayed, converted to a potty break, or cancelled for safety.
Privacy Policy
Client names, addresses, door codes, lockbox codes, alarm information, key locations, travel schedules, photos of homes, pet details, and personal client information are kept private. Client information is used only to manage bookings and provide requested pet care services.
