Dog Walking FAQ

Quick answers for new clients looking for reliable private dog walking and pet check-ins in Scarborough, Guildwood, Port Union, Rouge Hill, West Hill, and nearby east-end neighbourhoods.

Do you offer recurring dog walks?

Yes. Recurring weekly walks are ideal for clients who need reliable midday support and consistent care. Many clients book the same days and time windows each week.

Are walks private or group walks?

Walks are private. Paws on Patrol does not mix dogs from different households. The only exception is an additional dog from the same household when the dogs are compatible and can be handled safely together.

Which neighbourhoods do you serve?

We currently focus on Scarborough, Guildwood, Port Union, Rouge Hill, West Hill, and nearby east-end areas by request. Send your closest major intersection and we will confirm availability.

Are walkers background checked?

Yes. Walkers are background checked before joining the Paws on Patrol team.

Do walkers have Pet First Aid?

Yes. Walkers hold Pet First Aid certification for added peace of mind.

Is Paws on Patrol insured?

Yes. The company carries insurance for professional dog walking and pet care services.

Is a meet & greet required?

Yes. Every new client starts with a meet & greet so we can review your dog’s routine, leash habits, home access, and care instructions before the first walk.

What happens during the meet & greet?

We review your dog’s routine, leash behaviour, feeding or treat instructions, home access, emergency contacts, preferred walking schedule, and any safety or medical notes.

How do I book a walk?

Use the Book a Meet & Greet button or email r.peers@pawsonpatrol.ca. Include your neighbourhood, dog details, preferred service, and ideal days or time windows.

Do you offer puppy or senior dog visits?

Yes. The 20-minute puppy/senior visit is designed for bathroom breaks, comfort checks, feeding, water refreshes, or lower-energy dogs who do not need a full walk.

Can you walk more than one dog from the same home?

Yes, additional dogs from the same household may be added to the same private walk when the dogs are compatible and can be handled safely together. The additional dog fee is +$8.

Do you provide updates after walks?

Yes. Walk updates are included so you know your dog was cared for and how the visit went.

What if the weather is unsafe?

Dog safety comes first. Walks may be shortened, delayed, adjusted, converted to a quick relief visit, or cancelled during unsafe heat, cold, ice, storms, lightning, high winds, or poor conditions.

Do you take dogs to dog parks?

No. For safety and control, walks are private structured neighbourhood walks. Dog parks, playgrounds, school grounds, construction sites, and unsafe or crowded areas are avoided.

Do dogs stay on leash?

Yes. Dogs remain leashed and under control during walks. Walkers avoid unsafe greetings, risky shortcuts, loose-dog areas, and situations that may create unnecessary risk.

How are keys and access handled?

Keys, fobs, lockbox codes, alarm details, addresses, and home access instructions are treated as confidential and used only for approved pet care services.

What if my dog has special instructions?

Please share all handling, feeding, treat, medication, reactivity, medical, and routine notes during booking and the meet & greet so we can confirm whether the service is a safe fit.

What are your prices?

Current pricing starts at $22 for a 20-minute puppy/senior visit, $28 for a 30-minute walk, $36 for a 45-minute walk, and $44 for a 60-minute walk. Weekend and holiday bookings have a +$10 surcharge.
